Understanding the Customer's Requirements
The homeowner wanted a renewable energy system capable of generating significant amounts of electricity while providing enough battery capacity to maximise self-consumption throughout the day and into the evening. The system was designed to make the best use of the available roof space, combining premium all-black components to complement the appearance of the property while creating a future-proof solution for changing energy demands.
Due to the property's electrical supply, the installation was designed with an 8kW export limit, ensuring compliance with Distribution Network Operator (DNO) requirements while allowing the homeowner to benefit from the system's full generating potential.
Installation Process
Following a detailed site survey and bespoke system design, our installation team built scaffolding before installing 19 AIKO Neostar 3S Generation 3 all-black solar panels using the Fastensol all-black roof mounting system. The panels were carefully positioned to maximise energy generation while maintaining a clean, symmetrical finish across the roof.
Inside the property, we installed a 12kW Sigenergy Hybrid Inverter alongside two 10kWh Sigenergy batteries, providing a total of 20kWh of battery storage. This intelligent system automatically manages the flow of electricity between the solar panels, battery storage, the home and the National Grid, helping the homeowner use more of the energy they generate.
To complete the installation, all-black bird protection meshing was fitted around the perimeter of the array, helping to prevent birds from nesting beneath the panels and protecting the system for years to come.
